Some parked domains from Network Solutions that display “page under construction” messages were found to be serving up malware from a widget that was later disabled over the weekend, a security researcher told CNET on Monday.
Personally speaking, I’ve never liked nor used “page under construction” notices, for a couple of reasons: 1) It’s stating the obvious, and 2) websites should always be “under construction.” They should be kept fresh, up to date and ever-evolving with new content. For new websites, rather than put up an Under Construction notice on an empty page, I will take the time to design a custom holding page for my clients. It’s far more professional looking, and actually serves a purpose.
